Cool Cusco

YES! We get to sleep in. No wake up calls. First tour starts at 1:30!
We walked around a few town squares and bought fun stuff like water and candy!  We happened in on a couple of celebrations. I thought it was some sort of 3 Kings celebrations although, Louis told me it was the Day of St. Blessed. Never heard of that one.

Louis, our guide, took us to a few churches around Cusco. We saw the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral,  a Colonial monastery which was previously the Koricancha temple, an important temple devoted to worship of the sun.
This is an Inca ruin site in the countryside of Cusco.  We visited Saqsaywaman (pronounced:
SexyWoman), the temple and amphitheater of Kenko and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

The Incas sure worked hard, I hope they made it to their god, as everything they did was for one of them. Can you imagine moving a 10 ton rock without the aid of a wheel? It was all plain old manpower!

On our way back from the countryside, I asked Louis where we should shop in Cusco. He said he'd take us to a factory so we wouldn't have to pay full price. The sales lady is explaining how to tell if the clothing we are buying from the street vendors are really alpaca, baby alpaca or acrylic. We SCORED...or should I say, THEY SCORED!
The place even had a couple of Peruvian Hairless dogs. Not for sale, just pets, an added treat!
