Hello friends & family! The Murmans are leaving for Peru on Sunday, January 2. We arrive in Lima around 11:30PM on Sunday night. We then fly out to Cusco the next morning and will be make our way to Machu Picchu. We hope to blog each day! Lynn
Okay, I needed to take a chill pill.....Craig discovered his SCC accounting class starts on Jan 5 as they drove past the college and saw the sign. He dropped his phone at the Omaha airport where it is approximately 7 degrees & it is nicely shattered. Three out of 5 of us iPhone users have had the same problem. John didn't get his pills... Oh well! We decided we'd all share a days worth with him. Flight to Houston was fine but we were all disappointed that the flight to Lima is 2+ hours delayed. But.... No worries, we found the lounge!
As long as Lynn has her meds (and plenty of snacks packed), I'll feel like you'll all be OK - Have a wonderful trip! We'll be thinking of you this week and watching your adventure through the blog.
Have you discovered the Pisco Sour yet? Pisco, name of the traditional drink and patrimony of Peru, is the symbol of Peruvian pride and nationality. To keep with tradition you are obligated to drink at least 4 a day. Another tradition is “anticuchos” beef heart marinated, skewered, and seared over the grill..enjoy!
Hopefully all your bad luck is behind you! Glad you took your "chill pill"...how's that working for you? Hopefully Craig can make up his missed classes...John can replace his phone and sounds like you have the forgotten pills taken care of! The things our kids put us Mom's thru! Have fun!
Ah...I had forgotten Pisco sours! It is also traditional also for us Americanos to suffer countless indignities after one or two...My favorite trip to Lima was at the onset of the Air Brittanica strike (of course I was booked on Brittanica) when I was flying with two toddlers and wound up on Air Jamaica! What a trip mon! Could be worse...
Have a wonderful time!! We will be following your adventure through your blog. Take lots and lots of pictures. Can't wait to share in the journey.
